Distant Memory Collection

Memories are sentimental things that we all keep, and whether they are kept in an old journal or photo alumn or just collected in our minds, they are a special aspect that we can reflect on.

In January (2023), when I was reflecting on my own memories, I realized how quickly things changed. I saw through the eras (good and bad) of my life that shaped me in ways only I could understand. I also realized how little I reminisce about these memories, in fear that I’ll miss them and get stuck in the past. While that is a valid thing to be aware of, I know that looking back on memories can also help you to recenter yourself. For example, memories can remind you to be grateful for the things you have now that you didn’t have in the past or remind you to be kind to the people who are still in your life, who love and respect you. Memories are part of being human, and looking back on them is natural.

Boiling down, when I started to reflect back on memories, I felt sentimental. This sentimental feeling bled into some of the artwork I created during this time. Once they were finished, these particular artworks had a similar feeling to them - longing. Longing to achieve something, longing to be with someone, or just longing to be in a different place. Since they had a similar feeling, I thought that I should release them at the same time, along with two other items.

So, for the spring, I am releasing the “Distant Memory Collection” on March 1st, 2023.

In this collection, two new artworks will be introduced to my shop, and they are:

  • “Never Fading Skies” - Art Print

  • “Gentle River” - Art Print and A Poetry Print

I am also releasing these items, as they also share a similar feeling to the above artworks:

  • “Emperor of Dreams” - Art Sticker

  • “Lost in Space” - Washi Strip Sticker Sheet

The “Distant Memory” Collection is meant to encourage you to take a moment to reflect on old memories and decide how they matter to you. Do they teach you something? Do they make you happy? Do they show you how you want your life to be?

[Art prints, sticker, and sticker sheets will be officially shown on my Instgram (@rachaelanra) on March 1st. This collection may expand in the future to include more items ]
